Ehlerskroon has over the years developed the most nutritious
Animal Feeds for their Bonsmaras and supplies to other farmers
nationwide.
We only use the very best quality phosphate sources, which en-
sures maximum solubility and availability of the Phosphate.
The Phosphate sources we use have maximum bio-absorption.
Never underestimate the importance of trace elements.
All the above products contain our tried and tested trace element
mixture for all the areas we supply.
Our products are packaged in 30kg bags which allows for easy
handling.
Our products are dust free and formulated to prevent micro parts
from sifting down.
Products that contain Ureum should be used with the necessary
precautions and should preferably be protected from rain. In case
the product is being transported without any coverings. ensure
that the vehicle has enough drainage space.
Cattle develop a “salt-hunger” if they do not get enough salt in
their diet. Never give Licks which contain Ureum to “salt-hungry”
animals. These animals tend to eat too much which means that
they contract Ureum poisoning. First feed the animals clean salt
for at least one week.
We only use raw material of the highest quality and our policy is to
supply our customers with the best product at the best possible
price. For this reason we believe that our products make absolute
economic sense when it comes to purchasing essential extra feed.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: All our products are tested on our own cat-
tle and sheep herds. Consequently we ensure the effectiveness of
our products, and that the intake volumes are correct.
EHLERSKROON FEED IS REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT
OF AGRICULTURE OF WHICH THE COMPOSITION IS QUARANTEED.
Our product prices compare favourably with the self-mixing of salt
and Phosphate out of available sources and have the following
advantages in the use thereof.
•
Ehlerskroon products contain all the necessary trace elements.
•
There is no wastage caused by the mixing process.
•
Save on time and labour needed for self-mixing.
•
Our products are dust free and 30kg bags make the handling
thereof more time efficient.
Animals get supplements to stimulate them to take in nutrients.
The lick ingredients should complement the pasture and at the
same time ensure optimal utilisation of the available plant material.
It
is
important
that
the
right
nutrients
are
given
for
each
time
of
year.
Micro flora is essential for digestion in the rumen.
Lick should not replace the available roughage, but simply
complement it.
Supplementary feed is only effective if enough roughage is
available. If the leak intake is too high, there is often too little
roughage available.
Lick should be palatable and should be given often. Winter lick
must be given daily to ensure that the mycobacterial flora in the
rumen does not abate.
Protein is essential for the formation of the micro - flora.
The protein content of pastures change during the year as follows:
The following three principles must be
kept in mind when lick is given as
supplements to ruminants.
